What to Expect at Every Step

Placement & Healing

Step 1

After determining the strength of your jawline, Alexandria dentist Dr. Han will place the titanium posts. After this surgical process, you’ll require an average healing time of six months.

Digital Impressions

Step 2

Once the healing process is complete, we will take digital impressions of your mouth to create the overdentures that will be fixed over the titanium posts.

Insertion

Step 3

Lastly, we’ll fit your overdentures and make sure everything looks good and stays properly, leaving you with a strong, durable, and naturally-looking smile.

These scanners capture 3D digital dental impressions and allow for better precision and quicker results. Patients also find the colorized results convenient and easy to analyze.

3D CBCT

We use cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) to provide 3D imaging for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of the jaws and teeth. This is also a non-invasive and quick method of diagnosis.

Am I a good candidate for overdentures?

If you have missing teeth, are in good oral health, and have a sufficient amount of jawbone, you may be a good candidate for overdentures.

How do overdentures differ from regular dentures?

Regular dentures are held in place by a dental adhesive or natural suction, which make them susceptible to loosening over time. Overdentures are firmly placed over titanium dental posts.

How do I care for my overdentures?

Removing your overdentures while you sleep will help your gums breathe and rest. It’s also important to clean your overdentures with a dental brush, unscented antibacterial soap, and water, then placing them overnight in a dental box with water.
